Run before going to Megan’s playday. She looked pretty good. She said she was staying 7th or 8th in all their runs, which is amazingly good for where she came from.

Ma and Pa trail
Got hot today, but not before I got my run in. Thankfully had too much to do today not to get out early. Saw 4 deer and they weren’t in a hurry to get away from me. I held speed school graduation today. It went well. I have to keep my emotions in check with the seniors. I could easily get weepy. I gave them tech shirts with “the Wright team” on the front and “Go the distance, Get fast, Be strong, To the core” on the back. I hope they wear them with pride.

Treadmill
Megan phoned after her first morning practice. Her two mile time was 15:26, which is quite impressive for her. She really worked hard this summer in and out of the gym. I knew it would pay off and I hope this just boosts her self confidence. In her honor, I took on the treadmill and paced myself for an under 8 minute mile pace. It felt great when I finished. Not too old, I guess.

Trip up to NCR
I took my first trip of the season to the NCR trail, getting on in Monkton. It was a gorgeous day, low humidity, not yet hot. I did 7 miles on the flat, crushed rock trail and felt fine. No aches, no pains. Stretched well after.
